Random Act of Kindness

A bit ago, out of the blue, I received a random act of kindness from fellow collector, Jaybarkerfan's Junk. He sent me these Tiger cards.

This one act has sparked me to "pay it forward" more than I have in the past. Thanks again!

February 22nd in my house is referred to "Miracle on Ice Day". Today is the 33rd Anniversary (Yes, 33 years!) of the great Olympic hockey game between the United States and USSR. I am sure many of you know the outcome of the magnificent 4-3 victory, but many are unaware that this game was not the Gold Medal Game. The winner of the game would then advance to the Finals.

At the time the game was played I was a preteen home with the Chicken Pox. I was able to see all the games on television as I was home from school during those weeks. Ken Morrow was a local hero in my town and the news and newspapers were hyping things up from that angle, (as much as they could in the 80's.)

This one event springboarded my love for sports and collecting in general. And on this day I often am reminded of simpler times in my life, the joy I get from sports and my love of this hobby.

Do you recall where you were at and your feelings on this day in 1980?

I bought a blaster

I went to the local Wally World last night and picked up a Series 1 blaster to prepare for the big snow storm. I was shocked by the amount of Blue Borders that came in the box (20 to be exact) if you are chasing any of those let me know and we can make a trade, as I am pretty much sticking to the base set.

I also have these for trade from the blaster box:

I also got an Emerald Jon Jay #224 and a Gold Vernon Wells #210 0435/2013 for trade.

Stay warm out there!!
